Cookie Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies currently used on https://seros.dev and in the Seros application. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Based on the current marketing site implementation, the Seros marketing website sets no cookies of its own. Where we host an application for a client, it may use a strictly necessary session cookie for authentication and session integrity, described below. We do not currently use product analytics, advertising pixels, marketing cookies, or third-party tracking cookies. This policy uses "cookies" to include similar browser storage where relevant.
Current implementation
| Cookie name | Category | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
seros_session |
Strictly necessary / security | Seros | Used only by an application we host that requires sign-in. It maintains an authenticated session and supports session security. It is not set by the marketing website | 12 hours (Max-Age=43200) |
The marketing website at https://seros.dev sets none of the above. The table describes the
cookie used by an application we host that requires sign-in; it matches the application
source: seros_session is issued with
HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict, Max-Age=43200, and Secure in production. If the deployed
configuration differs, update this table and the Privacy Policy before relying on this
document.
No non-essential cookies are currently set. There is therefore no analytics or marketing consent choice to make in the current implementation.
1. Categories we use
| Category | What it does | Examples of purpose | Set by | Consent needed in EU/UK | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes a hosted application work | Keeping you signed in and maintaining session integrity | Us | No | 12 hours (Max-Age=43200) |
| Security | Detects and prevents abuse | Session security, bot and abuse controls | Us | No, where strictly necessary for a service you requested | Session or server-configured security lifetime |
| Functional | Remembers your choices | Language, timezone, interface preferences, dismissed notices | Not currently used | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| Analytics | Tells us how the product is used in aggregate | Product usage and error measurement | Not currently used | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| Marketing and advertising | Not used | We do not run advertising pixels and do not share data for cross-context behavioural advertising | None | Not applicable | Not applicable |
Cookie behavior may change as the product changes. We will update this policy and the per-cookie table before introducing a non-essential cookie.
2. How consent works
Because the current implementation uses only strictly necessary session and security cookies, we do not set non-essential cookies that require consent. If non-essential cookies are introduced, we will obtain consent where required before setting them and will provide a withdrawal control of equal prominence.
3. How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, sign-in and other functions of a hosted application may not work. The marketing website works with cookies fully disabled. Questions: team@seros.dev.
4. Third-party cookies
We do not currently permit third parties to set cookies on the marketing site or in the application for their own advertising purposes.
5. Changes
We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
